Gaudium Mundo - Latin carol for December 5My dear friend Laura Gibbs, who is my inspiration for all things related to the digital humanities, maintains a wonderful Latin Holiday Songs blog featuring 80 different “carols of the day.” You can see all 80, or subscribe by email, here.

One of my favorite Latin carols is Gaudete Gaudete - A Winter's Night. As its name implies, it’s a lively carol announcing joy to all because Christ is born of the virgin Mary. I love to see it performed live; it simply calls forth joyous dancing! Here it is performed last year by the Celtic Praise Troupe, including my two older daughters, Rachel and Hannah:
